UKBAA membership for investors unable to self-certify

The changes came into effect on 31st January 2024 and increased the thresholds for self-certified investors as follows:

A certified high net worth individual

You must be able to confirm that you either:

• have an annual income in excess of £170K or
• have net assets in excess of £430K beyond your pension fund assets and your private residence

A certified sophisticated investor

You must be able to confirm one of the following:

• You have been a director of a company turning over at least £1.6 million within the last two years
• You have been a member of a network or syndicate of business angels for at least six months
• You have worked in the past two years in a professional capacity in the private equity sector or in the provision of finance for small and medium enterprises

By signing up for our 6-month programme, you will be able to self-certify provided you complete the eLearning programme within 5 months and 28 days of signing up.
